Missing Jake…

It’s been 12 weeks and 3 days since we lost our golden angel Jake to osteosarcoma. At times it seems so long ago, and other times it seems like just a week ago that he was here. Memories of him are all around our home…

Sometimes I wake up in the morning, and for a few seconds I forget that he’s not here anymore… then reality sets in… ๐Ÿ™

Here is a picture ofย  Wolfie with Jake… during happier times… I miss my baby so much!

Oh gosh – I hear you….I understand and I send you big hugs and tons of love and shared tears. Memories are a wonderful thing – let them bring love and smiles to your heart…I always smile when I think of my boy, but yet the tears still come in waves unexpectedly and more frequent than I thought they would at 5 months. I will never get used to life without Zeus.

Hang in there kiddo – love to you and Wolfie from me and Buddy. Zeus and Jake are hanging out watching over us ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Oh Angel,

I’m so sorry for you… I’m so sorry that you had so little time after amputation. It just plain sucks….
    Hugs to you,

As little as it may help, we miss Jake too. Please know you’re not alone in your grief.

  4. We are so sad for you! We think of Jake often too! It always makes my Mom smile when she sees Jake’s picture on the tripawd header! Hopefully Peyton and Jake are having a great time together swimming the days and nights away!

Lots of love, hugs and kisses!

First, I want to say that my heart still breaks for you at the loss of Jake! He was such a wonderful dog, and I know it still must hurt so much.

But, on a happier note, Wolfie and Nala look happy! What an adorable pair! I am sure those two can make you smile when you are having a rough day.

    Hope all is well!

    Dear Jakes Mom:
I just read your entire story, and I miss Jake too just looking at all his pictures with you. I am so sorry for your loss. I know you miss him a lot. You can take comfort in the fact that you loved him very well!!and gave him the best life he could have had.
I have a Golden Girl Rosie. You posted on my story back in Sept when I first started out the same time as you. We both live in Florida. My golden is 12 and we took a different route as they said they could possibly save her leg with a strong dose of radiation. Well they got rid of the Cancer but her leg latter fractured. She’s had a minor fracture ever since and getting worse. She limps on it. They want to amputate now after 6 months of trying to save her leg.

Watching your Jake gave me new hope for Rosie. She is older than he was. She is 12. I am going thru similar feelings that you had. I’m scared to amputate, but it seems Jake had a quality of life those last couple months with you.
I am so sorry about his passing. I can only imagine how hard it was for you as I think of my own girl and how I will feel when she is gone. I can relate.
She is by my side all the time. I work at home and she follows me around everywhere even tho she is lame now and limps with difficulty to follow me.
I hope amputation is the right route for my girl. I wish I could talk to you. Amputation seems so final. But at least they don’t have pain anymore right? Did you still have to give a lot of drugs to Jake after amputation? if you don’t mind me asking?
Hope you are feeling a little better as each day goes by.
    Best Wishes,
    Rosie’s Mom
